Where can I buy bedroom furniture for my loft conversion with slanted ceilings / awkward walls?

I'm ideally looking for a specific company that can supply kids bedroom furniture as IKEA and HABITAT etc don't fit the strange angles. I could get bespoke cupboards and drawers etc, but that would be so expensive. Just some links would be great...

Fun Things To Do with a 3 Yr Old???

Just wondering what are some fun things that you do with your 3yr old Child??? When I try to sing with him he looks at me like I am NUTS LOL (My 3 Month old likes the Singing though LOL) He plays cars with his Daddy, I let that for him for the "Guy Thing" :) He likes to Paint and Color but that all only last 10-15 min then hes gotta get up...hes a pretty active little guy!!! He LOVES to be on the GO GO GO!!!!

Have any other suggestions for me???
Edit to add: Its 20 degrees so outside activies are a No Go especially since he has a Double Ear Infection as we speak! An he already watches enuff Cartoons...we watch the Cars Movie at least once a day LOL

Also Take them to indoor parks, indoor pools, indoor sporting events, I never thought my son would sit still during a baseball game but he does or a football game. He actually started to imitate how the pitcher pitches and for Christmas we brought him a ton of baseball gear because he seems into it. The movies are great too or Sesame Street Live another shocker where he sat still and even got up and danced a few times. Playgrounds, are great even taking him to a indoor play place like Chuckie Cheese (I hate that place with a passion) or even your Chick Fil A play yard or McDonalds can kill of energy or be blast. If you guys have a miniature railroad locally that's a blast too. Also try taking him to coffee houses who have children's music and movement. I would recommend one toy to you the LeapFrog ClickStart My First Computer it plugs into the AV on your tv and you can sit with you child and play educational games. My son loves it he got it for Christmas, Yes he wont sit forever with it but it is a great resort to go back to for 20-30 minutes a pop. If you get it make sure you pick up the Ac Adapter (under $10) the batteries run down fast. The games all have his favorite characters and are cute! Take him to a aquarium a zoo. You could work on counting with objects, sorting colors, pretend camping in a small tent. Ikea has a cute Igloo themed tent that my son is a fan of. Then at Target they have kid sized camping gear for some boyish fun. Build a play fort, work on riding a bike or trike, Or even skate with young kids roller skates. Also boys tend to love trains so try Geotrax trains by Fisher Price. My son got them first when he was 2 years old and can put them together and set them up on his own by almost 3 he be 3 in Feb. Also try the Candy Land Castle game it is great. Also try cooking with your son my son loves the kitchen so much we had to buy him a play kitchen (but yet he still loves the real kitchen more) or the Little Tykes Housekeeping Set. It help him learn housekeeping and cleaning skills.

I'm a little peeved now that I found out my sons convertible crib was recalled in April. :( Now I'm trying to find something quickly (and cheap) until I find a bedroom set I really like.

Most of my house is Ikea; it is perfect for kids -- looks okay, cheap enough so its getting trashed is not a tragedy.

I spent my childhood pleading for their little loft beds each year when the catalogue came out. Every effing year: "No, because you'll outgrow it in no time. You'll think it's babyish and then we'd have to go out and buy you a new bed." Every year!!

because of all that deprivation in my childhood. Be kind and let him get "loft bed" out of his system now, so he doesn't embarrass himself later.

We have a bit of kiddie Ikea here and it's great -- this in particular http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40100253 is wonderful; I would've adored a chair like that as a kid. My daughter uses it as both play spot and as relaxation hideaway.

My son has been wanting this bed for awhile. Its a kids loft bed thats not very big with a tent underneath and a slide w/ladder attached to bed. Ive been looking for this all over the internet and found it on lots of sites but everyone ive come to says SORRY OUT OF STOCK!! Ive emailed every company asking when they will get more but no response. No one seems to have this product and my son would love to have it. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!

it might not be the exact brand but have you checked Ikea?

if they have one in your area, you should go look-they have some cute beds w/slides there and they are reasonably priced.

craiglist is also a great place-we got my daughter's loft bed off of our craigslist for 50 bucks.

Trundle or bunk beds????

We have 3 kids. Two girls ages 5 and a half and 3 and a son, 12 months.

Our eldest daughter and son share a bedroom, son is in a cot (crib) at the momen, but I assume by next year when he's 2 he'll need to be in a big bed.

Our bedrooms are small though so we can't fit two single beds in either of them (well, apart from the master bedroom of course). So I am thinking of putting the two girls together. I want to get either bunk beds or trundles. I am leaning more towards trundles because with bunks I'm scared the kids would try and jump off the top and hurt themselves. But some people say trundles are a silly idea and should only be used for sleepovers or whatever.

So if you had a 5 and a half year old and a 3 year old, would you put them in bunk beds or trundles?

I don't think there is anything wrong with either option. As a child I slept in a trundle bed for a time, and there was no problem with that. Bunk beds are always a fun option for kids though, and may be your better option. Each child can have their own permanent space. With the trundle, there is no room for toys/stuffed animals etc. They can make a tent on the bottom bunk, and it's fun to play on and around. Put the eldest on the top. Check out Ikea, they have really great options for kids that are both safe and a smart use of space. In small areas it's best to use as much vertical space as possible for storage, so the floor can be used for playing.

Ok so i an thinking about painting all the walls in my room a real rich/ warm purple color with white trimings curtains and creamy kind of carpet. Then the funiture would be a mix of white and black brown funiture much like in the pic below.

Heres a pic (4th one across) kind of what im going for except the pink carpet would be light and the walls would be a rich/warm purple colour. Do you recon this would give me a warm romactic feel for my room. Or a complete disarster haha

oh no the carpet wont be pink. It would be a light creamy color like beige or off white. No not pink. The only strong color would be the walls.

Hmmm. I don't think I could live in a purple room, but it's up to you.

If you have a bit of a budget, why not buy some purple flannel sheets (I got some from LandsEnd overstocks a few years ago -- you might be able to find some cheap ones from another on-line dealer, since it is an unusual color, and flannel is more of a winter thing), and then tack it up on the walls? It should give your room a rich, texture-y, tent-kind of look that can be very romantic. And if you find you hate the color, then you just tear down the sheets, donate them to good-will (or upholster your sofa, or put 'em on your bed), and try a different color.

The white trimmings and creamy carpet sound like they'll go with just about any rich color. China blue, turkey red, spring green, or eggplant purple (which I envision when you say rich/warm purple color). I think they'll be a great investment.

Good luck! A bedroom should be rich, warm and romantic!

Edit: You might also want to think about a cream-colored carpet in light of the bedroom being a pretty high traffic area. How about a dark carpet, that has little creamy throw rugs that you can launder? I have small children, so when I think white or cream carpeting, I think "24-hour flu -- preceded by strawberry shortcake" or some other throw-up disaster. But, if you have no kids, and the money to replace the carpet when it starts looking shabby, then go for it. There is something very calming and rich about that kind of carpet. (-: Never fit in my lifestyle, unfortunately, but it does sound wonderful.
