tent camping with toddlers anyone do it?

Q. We are planning on going camping this summer with a group of possibly 6 adults and 2 toddlers who will be 18 months & 21 months during July. We were thinking cabin camping but tent would be cheaper and real camping I am just really worried about the whole fire things and the girls. How does this work can you use a fire with children around? At my uncles he has a fire pit kinda thing that has a ceramic case and we roasted marshmallows and my now 18 month old did fine i just blocked the thing but a fire is so much bigger

It's easy enough to rig up a fence with a few posts and some chicken wire that will keep the toddlers out of harms way.
You could make it low enough to step over but still high enough to keep the little ones out or make up two of the posts to hold a gate and have a higher fence.
There's a load of time till July to make a simple gate from 2x1 and some chicken wire and two 2x2 posts to hold it with metal hinges or leather straps for hinges or a peg and hole arrangement for a swivel hinge on one side and a strong clasp on the other, or a loop of rope round the top of the post where they can't reach it.
Contact the camp site first to see if they will allow that sort of arrangement.
Our little ones were camping before they could walk and we had no big problems with them.
They knew from early on that the fire and the camp stove were no no no just like the wood fire at home was no no no.
They loved it, outside and being adventurous with loads of space to run around in when they were old enough to run.
That's when the troubles really start. You use energy running after them, haha.
Same all over the world. Kids in India splashing in puddles just like in London and NY.....kids are kids.....bless 'em.

The U.S. has obviously made great strides in the past century and a half to fight racism, but does anyone think some people take it too far? My daughter wants to move to LA Hoping to get a job a blue cross of CA in woodlands hills she works for blue cross in MA looking to live in maybe in Van Nuys saw some apartments The Madrid and Kittridge Glen apartments has anyone heared of these apartments? How long would it take to get to woodland hills from Van Nuys taking the 405 or can you take the back roads,also boyfriend will also be moving too he is a electriction with MA licence do they get good pay in LA . how much is basic cable and car insurance she has a 2006 Tuson Thanks so much

WOW! chill a bit Mom, hi i am a Mom who actually grew up in L.A. - Manhattan Beach. And have live in or around the area or in "Crowdafornia" almost all my life. oh haha spent alot of time in Bay area & No. of Golden Gate too. i will say this although i do not know of the specific apartment buildings you speak of - i would encourage you daughter to live in Woodland Hills over Van Nuys. Chatsworth & Northridge are pretty good/safe. and remember no matter where she goes in the world there is both - good & bad. as far as insurance for car - my youngest lives in L.A. county, has 4x4 suv so i only have his $150. monthly to go by. he is in construction as is my husband. his electrician gets anywhere from $40. - $60. for hourly jobs - piece price varries & have to be willing to travel @ least 1 hr. each way for various jobs. i would rather take the 101 frwy - the 405 is SO crowded these days & if i am not mistaken between those to places there are various ways to take surface streets - husband father used to teach @ Northridge University and it seemed like my husband was always getting off congested frwys & taking alternate routes on surface streets - there is always mapquest. as far as how long it would take again varies - time day how many fools cause crashes weather - but not really long - we're talking minutes. in a few days i will be going down to L.A. to help put on a huge event our church has been doing for the last 32yrs - we sorta take over Venice Beach and turn it into a Tent Bizzare out of India for the day - we have a parade with 3 huge 4 story floats covered with flowers ( that's my department) - at the end of Parade we have a Big Free Feast & Free entertainment for thousands we're told ( channel 7 - once estimated 70,000 or so they said) it is a lot of fun for the whole family - my fav tent is the kids, they get to learn about stuff from India-arts n' crafts. anyway Mom - it is a big move, and can be scarey, L.A. can be scarey place to think of your baby going to i know one of my sons lives near Venice, a daughter lives in Topanga - which is very nice place to live by the way. where ever they go i worry that is what Moms do. just try to keep it in check is what my kids tell me - haha hope i have helped some. There's a load of time till July to make a simple gate from 2x1 and some chicken wire and two 2x2 posts to hold it with metal hinges or leather straps for hinges or a peg and hole arrangement for a swivel hinge on one side and a strong clasp on the other, or a loop of rope round the top of the post where they can't reach it.
Contact the camp site first to see if they will allow that sort of arrangement.
Our little ones were camping before they could walk and we had no big problems with them.
They knew from early on that the fire and the camp stove were no no no just like the wood fire at home was no no no.
They loved it, outside and being adventurous with loads of space to run around in when they were old enough to run.
That's when the troubles really start. You use energy running after them, haha.
Same all over the world. Kids in India splashing in puddles just like in London and NY.....kids are kids.....bless 'em.

Best place to take a vacation with the family to see wild animals?

We wanna go take a vacation to see wild animals like lions, tigers, buffalo, zebras, elephants, and other animals that live with them where would be the best place to see them wild in one of those jeeps you see on tv? I want it to be clean we're we live but able to see the wild life were gonna be with two family's so we need a big place. Please give me some reccomendations on where to go I'm thinking south Africa but I can be wrong thanks and could someone give me an estimate for 6 adults and three kids please thank you.

If you go to South Africa you are sure to see Lions, Buffalo, Zebra, Elephant and lots of other animals. If you want to see Tigers in their natural habitat, best bet is to go to India.

Rent a jeep from a car hiring place.

Accommodation places in National Parks are clean. You can book your accommodation to suit your whole party (like the size of bungalo or chalet you will stay in) with the National Park once you have decided on one. If you are more adventurous, and you want to get really close to nature, there are options to camp in tents as well in designated areas that is relatively safe from wild animals.

Kruger National Park is a good one, also Addo Elephant Park. But dont be limited to these. There really are lots to choose from.

Ok i know that avatar the last airbender ended, but there is still so much more to know like what happened to zukos mom and katara's (maybe) and i only say that because katara said that they never found her mom after the firebender was in her tent and when katara found him he said he wasn't taking prisoners, but he also didn't flat out say that he killed her unless they were just trying to make it as kid friendly as possible and I know there is a live action avatar movie coming out in 2010, but will there be anymore cartoon ones or a spinoff pleas elet me know and if you have any links to it please paste it thank you.
yes the way it sounded is like its going to be actual people and also the question that no one is asking is what about tophs family i know the whole reason why she left and eveything but you think that they would have at least had them in the final one since when she talks about them you can tll that she really loves and misses them

Yes, there will be a spin-off. The creators confirmed there will be a new show set in the avatar world. And I am speculating it is about Zuko's mom, Ursa.
