How do you make an indoor tent?

Luigi fan

I wanna make an indoor tent with my bed cuz my real tent broke and my freind's coming over and we were ganna camp...
Please answer my question!

Answer
"Tents donât necessarily have to go outdoors. You can make a fun indoor tent thatâs collapsible and will give the kids hours of enjoyment. This tent doesnât need any stakes but you will have to have plenty of fabric.
How To Make A Collapsible Indoor TentSheets can be used to make curtains, tablecloths, and yes, even tents.

Consider sheets instead of other material, since theyâre inexpensive and easy to work with, for this project.

Five twin sheets will make an excellent tent. You can purchase fabric, though, in smaller yardage than the sheets, if youâd like a shorter or smaller tent. Working with sheets makes it easier, since you donât have to measure and cut each side of the tent.

Consider how much floor space you can spare for the tent. Remember that the tent is easily collapsible if it needs to be moved in a hurry. Measure out the amount of space youâre willing to give the tent, then cut a sheet or piece of fabric to that size, allowing a couple extra inches on each side for hemming, and making sure to cut the piece in a perfect square. If one end of the sheet is already hemmed, do not add the extra inches for that side.

The square piece, upon being completely hemmed, becomes the top of the tent. Each of the four remaining sheets will become a side of the tent. Stitch the first sheet onto one side of the tent, at the very top edge. Allow the edge of the tent top to barely hang over the top edge of the sheet. Continue this until you have three sides sewn onto the tent. For the fourth side of the tent, cut the sheet in half, lengthways, then hem the cut edges. Sew the sheet onto the tent, making the fourth side, including a doorway. Make tabs and sew one on the top section and one on the bottom section of each sheet edge. These are used to tie the sides shut.

In order to hang the collapsible tent insert four eye hooks into the ceiling. To make the tent collapse out of the way of guests, insert two of the eye hooks next to the top ceiling molding. The four hooks should align with the four corners of the tent top.
String wire through the tent at all four corners. Wad the wire into a ball shape at each end, inside the tent, to keep it from coming out when hung. String the wire up to the eye hooks, making sure to get the tent top level and even. Simply wrap the wire around the eye hook and itâll hang until ready to collapse.

To collapse the tent just undo the front two wires. To remove the tent completely, just remove all four wires from the eye hooks. The tent is easy to hang again, and the kids will have a blast when they play in it."

ALSO: cause i am pretty sure i have seen them in the wal mart stores but they are not online so i was a little worried.
thanks guys.

Answer
I bought a $30 tent from Wal-Mart that says it is good for 4 people. They must have meant 4 kids because it is nowhere near big enough for 4 adults. Nonetheless, it is a great tent for $30 that the kids would definitely enjoy.

How do you get kids to sleep in a tent?

DJ, Andrew

I have a family reunion coming up in which we will be sleeping in a tent for at least two, maybe three nights. So tonight, partly to practice for the trip, and partly because I thought the kids would have fun with it, we set up the tent in the basement, watched a movie, ate some s'mores and then tried to put the kids to sleep in the tent. I tried for over an hour before I finally got so frustrated that I just gave up and took them to their beds. At the reunion taking them to their beds won't be an option. Part of the problem was that my one year old is used to sleeping in a crib and if I brought the playpen for him to sleep in we wouldn't all fit in the tent. The other problem was that the tent was just so much fun they kept bouncing off the walls... literally. Is there anything that I can do to get them to sleep in the tent? or at the reunion are they just going to be up until they pass out from exhaustion?

Answer
Keep at it.

Introducing something like a tent is naturally going to seem like Disneyland for the first few days. Leave it up in the basement and mention that it's for sleeping.

TALK about camping. About sleeping inside the tent, and putting the tent outside.

It'll take a few times.

so, if your four kids were sleeping in a tent in the back yard?

and one of them was only 3 so you put a baby monitor out there with them in case he wakes up and gets confused, but the baby monitor massively magnifies every slight sound ... and your kids were now peacefully asleep but there was this one mosquito obviously trapped inside the tent that sounds on the baby monitor like something out of a hitchcock movie

would you:

(a) turn off the baby monitor because you know you'd hear the kids through the open window anyway if there was a problem;
(b) go outside and try to get rid of the mosquito, doubtless waking up the kids and letting ten more mosquitoes in the tent in the process; or
(c) stay on y!a all night because you're way too light of a sleeper to possibly go to sleep with that terrifyingly loud buzzing noise near your head?
ah, sorry boy wonder, should have given a (d) since obviously that one was coming. yes, he's admittedly in some serious danger out there between his siblings. once or twice a chicken has wandered into our yard. scary stuff. but i'm risking it anyway.

Answer
(c)

this is a happy, independent time for the kids. i don't want to go in that tent to (a) turn off the baby monitor and let in more mosquitoes in the process which in turn would 'bug' the kids more, nor (b) kill the mosquito and wake up the kids and ruin the whole camping aura with my hysteric presence, nor (d) chase the evil menace that is the chicken --camping trips are supposed to be a little scary. that's the whole fun of it. so i'd risk the chicken attack, so help me god.

oh and (c) because we'll miss you if you went to sleep. hehe.

What are some toys that kids ages 6-12 can play with together? There is also a 1 1/2 year old. Preferably something that can be played with outside and at least 4 or 5 kids can play with at a time or take turns playing. Something the 1 1/2 year old would enjoy too if you can possibly think of anything to fit with that age. We are already buying a slipping slide and sand toys. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Something that isn't very expensive either. Thanks.

Answer
these are things my kids play with and they are a girl 6 and boy 3.

soccer ball

jr football or foam one might be better

Frisbee

a rubber ball for playing kick ball with bases. you can make ur own bases and the dollar tree did carry them

jump ropes

kid size rakes

plastic t ball

paint, lots of paint and boxes or posters are 2 for a dollar at $ tree
Spray paint a big huge box, let them i mean, and make a play house outta it.

How bout a tent? If not that, they could make a fort using kit chairs and blankets and sheets and stuff

if you have a table, uno and other games without tiny pieces might be good. My daughter loves uno!

horse shoes is fun too, they make them mobile kinds so you can bring them in when your done with them

kites are a $ at the $ tree too

who doesnt like bubbles or bubble blowers? You can get an awesome bubble blower at wal mart for not too much like 10 or 15 dollars and its GREAT LOADS OF FUN

potting soil and seeds is fun too

dont forget the boom box, gotta have tunes outside right?

I hope this helps it was just off the top of my head!
