I'd like to know,
1. How to get there
2. Where to stay and eat
3. What sites to see
4. How do you get around the island if you don't have a car (is there a bike rental place, or bus service?
5. What's the weather like in May?
6. Is this a popular spot during Golden Week?

Answer
I went to Sado Island for the Kodo Drum Festival in mid-August.

The island is rather large so biking around would take quite a bit of time. They have bus services connecting throughout the island.

You can get there from by ferry from Niigata City, Teradomari, or Naoestu. I took the ferry from Niigata to Ryotsu which was a little over 2 hours and then took the ferry from Ogi to Naoetsu which was about the same time.

There are camp sites throughout the island where you can rent tents such as near Ogi.

In Ogi you can ride in a bathtub boat by ladies in traditional clothing.

There:s a goldmine exhibit you can visit.

Sado used to be a place of exile but now it's a rather popular vacation spot so I expect it will be quite crowded like every other place during Golden Week.

Does anyone know of a good camp site near toronto?

Jessica

I would really love a place that has a dance, park, on site store, a pool, good crowed of people, activities both on and off site, local areas to visit (stores, hot spots, beaches, ext), somewhere close to Toronto (within an hour and a half max), id like the place to be child friendly (I have a little girl, 14mths, to young for anything now but none the less), hiking and boating would be nice. Pretty much a good place with plenty of fun for everyone.
