kids tents indoor play image
I work in a kids indoor play area and today throughout the day two kids were sick.I didn't go near the sick or the children as i tent to stay in the kitchen area, but do i have a chance of catching the bug from being in the same building as the sick? I've been washing my hand and using hand gel after i touch the surfaces and cleaning. I ask because I have a really bad phobia
Answer
As long as you're not in the same room with them, keeping your hands clean the chances are really small to get the bug, but a little chance always exists, but I doubt it that you caught it..

What are the best Indoor playplaces in NW Oregon?

I'm looking for an indoor playplace for my daughter's birthday party in January. It should be suitable for children from 2 to 8 or so. The cheaper the better...I don't want to have to pay hundreds of dollars for a party package. Would rather bring our own cake and that's it.
Answer
Not knowing exactly where you ar, this can be a tough one to answer. But here are some fairly universal examples of options:
1) Check with the local gymnastics group in your area. They frequently have group parties where you bring the cake, they do a mini gym class for the kids. They run $50-75 for our area (south coast of Oregon).
2) Talk to a local theater about a party package. Have guest pay for the movie (G rated of course) and you provide the cake or popcorn. Our theater gives background tours and the 6-9 year olds really enjoyed it.
3) Check with a bowling alley about a party room and game of bowling. Even 2-3 year olds can play with the really light balls.
4) Check with a local swimming pool. They often have parties.
5) On the south coast we have a business called "Outdoor In" which has lots of younger kid toys, rides and an indoor inflatable jump tent. They have video games for older kids. Check at Oak Park (Portland) - I think they have something similar - if not, see about a ride on the carousel and a party.
6) See if one of your friends has a community building at their apartment house. You might use it to host the party.
Good luck!
